Vinay Nagar Bengali Senior Secondary School in Sarojini Nagar affiliated to C.B.S.E, with more than 1200 students and about 70 staff members was primarily established with the objective of fulfilling the dreams of promoting Bengali tradition and culture. The school today, is catering also to the needs of underpriviledged and down trodden sections of society and committed to provide quality education to all.
It was under the noble vision of Smt. Monica Sen, An Ex-Teacher, that the school was founded in a small room at her residence in Vinay Nagar with Six students (on the 11th of November 1952). The Journey which began with the securing of a plot of Land, (Shifting to tents and finally to a Three Story Building with latest Infrastructure) needless to say, has not been without large scale hardships and seemingly insurmountable obstacles, but it has truly been a very glorious and satisfying one for all those who have been associated with the school. Among the great visionaries without whose contribution the school could not have reached its present glory and reputation, the name of Late Shri A. K. Roy, Ex-Controller Auditor General of India comes to the foremost. A befitting tribute was paid to him by naming of the road connecting our school as A. K. Roy Marg on 31/08/2003.
