Daniel Ottaunick

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Daniel Ottaunick was the first Fulbright Fellow to teach at VNBS. From 2013 to 2014, he taught English to students in Classes VI through IX, working closely with Ms. Purnima Das. His classes focused on creative writing and short stories.

During his time at VNBS, Daniel and Ms. Das co-directed a performance of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The drama was performed by a talented group of students in Class IX (and one Class VIII student) during the 2014 Annual Function. It was the first Shakespeare play performed by VNBS students. Watching his students give a wonderful performance was one of the proudest moments of Daniel's life.

After completing his fellowship, Daniel attended Harvard Law School, where he received a J.D. in 2018. He cherishes the time he spent at VNBS and is grateful to have stayed in touch with many of his former students and colleagues.
