Every year Vinay Nagar Bengali school celebrates Annual Day in a grand scale. Teachers and students join hands to make it a successful event. Amidst various cultural programs the annual day is an eventful occasion for the school. In the year 2016 Annual Day was celebrated on Thursday 22nd December 2016 . Shree Sh. Manish Sisodia, Dy. Chief Minister and Education Minister joined the occasion as a Chief Guest and gave away the academic prizes. The pmgramme was participated by more than 300 school students on the stage while performing various dances, English drama and chorus song by school teachers. Our honorable principal Sh. Sukanta Bhattacharjee presented the annual report.
Every year Vinay Nagar Bengali Sr. Sec. School Organizes S.P Kundu Memorial Cup. It is an Inter School Invitation Football Tournament. In the year 2014-2015 the tournament was inaugurated on Monday 19th January by Sh. Novy Kapadia, Sr. Columnist and TV Commentator. All total Twelve Schools participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Modern School, Barakhamba Road and Modern School, Vasant Vihar. Modern School, Barakhamba Road won the match. Our honorable chief guest Smt. Nivedita Kundu gave away the prizes to the best performers of the tournament.
On 11th November, Vinay Nagar Bengali Sr. Sec. School has celebrated its Founder’s Day. Our school took the pleasure of the magnificent presence of Mr. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, M.P of Beharampur Murshidabad and Ms. Atashi Chatterjee.
We are highly honoured as our special guests shared some valuable moments from their schedule with our students. We were highly pleased to note the history of our school which is obviously very unique from our respected Chairman Dr. Abhijit Bhattacharya. On this auspicious day we all remembered the founder members, specially the distinguished contribution of Mrs. Monica Sen and others how from a tent our school has bloomed to a very prestigious institution in Delhi.
It’s a very special day in VNB school calendar. Each year the day starts with prayers and songs and speeches presented by the students in the morning assembly. On this day the school also remembers a great son of the soil- Neta-Ji Subhash Chandra Bose. The children pay tribute to him as they sing the famous patriotic song of INA- “KADAM KADAM BADAYE JA”
The goddess of learning – Saraswati- is invoked by the students and the teachers of the school every year. A lot of hard work by the students as well as by the teachers goes into making it a successful event. Every year the Students of class XI take the onus on them to make it a grand success. This is one day every year, when most of the former students come back to their Alma Mater. It further enlivens the occasion and helps to create a nostalgic ambience. The idol of Saraswati is immersed the next day with lot of enthusiasm.
Every year some well known personalities are invited in the school to hoist the National Flag in the school premises to celebrate the Independence Day. Planting of trees in the school premises is also an important part of the programme to celebrate Van Mahotsav. This year Investiture ceremony was also held on the same day. The outgoing captains of each house handed over their respective house registers to the newly appointed captains of the house. Children presented various cultural programs on the occasion.
Students celebrate teacher’s day every year on 5th September with lot of enthusiasm. The senior students don the mantle of teachers and for that day they enjoy enacting teacher’s role. The day usually ends with a friendly cricket or football match between senior boys and gents teaching staff. A light refreshment is provided for the teaching staff.
Students of class XIth bid for students and teachers. The farewell programmes are also organized for our retiring teachers and staffs. Both students and staffs participate togetherly and beautiful cultural programmes are presented with various gifts and All of us wish for their healthy and joyful retiring lives. The programmes end with very delicious lunch given by the retiring teacher.
It is celebrated on the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru i.e. on 14th November. A cultural programme is held in the school premises. Many small children’s take part in the programme and make us to enjoy their performance in dance, recitation, songs and dramas etc. At the end of the programme our teachers tell about different problem and crisis in the life lives of the child’s and also give their valuable suggestion to overcome them and to drive our society towards great prosperity.
