Annual Report 2015 - 16

Hon’ble Chief Guest, Deputy Chief Minister & Minister of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi Sh. Manish Sisodia, Smt. Anushree Mukherjee, Socio-Cultural & Political Personality and Sh. Utpal Ghosh, Chairman Governing Body, distinguished guests, parents and dear students. I take this opportunity to convey my warmest greeting to you and welcome you all to our Annual day today. We are indeed grateful that you have taken from your busy schedule to be with us this evening. We feel greatly honoured by your presence. I can assure you that your presence here this evening is a sources of great motivation and encouragement to this entire school.

I feel privileged and honoured to share with you that various facts of development which we have achieved during the last academic session.

Good atmosphere, environment and infrastructure are pre requisition for all round development of a student. In this regard, I take this opportunity to convey my thanks to our Governing Body for their whole hearted support for creating beautiful environment and developing infrastructure. With their support (i) boundary wall, class rooms and terrace have been renovated (2) an emergency exit stair case has been built up for disaster management (3) computer room has been renovated, modified and new computers has been installed. In this context we are really thankful to the Delhi Government and are hopping the same support in future. We have a plan to provide the same facility for junior classes with computer Lab. (4) Biology Lab has been modified with modern technological tools.

Our school was established in the year 1952 with a noble object to provide value based education to downtrodden students with the help of our dedicated teachers and staff. We are holding the same legacy. At present academic session 2016-17 our student strength is 1250. School identity reflects showing Board results. Now, I am presenting the Board result of last session 2015-16. We have achieved 100% result like previous session with number of students getting distinction marks have risen considerably. Number of distinctions in English, Physics, Chemistry, Political Science, Bengali have remarkably increased. Here, I want to thank our teachers for their worth effort. They had taken extra classes for academically weak student, in summer & winter break. In secondary level also we achieved 90% result and number of students secured grade – A. During this session, number of students have achieved distinctions in various fields. One of our student. Manojit Chatterjee has been awarded by CBSE for his excellent tenth result. He secured A+ Grade in all subjects. In Science Exhibition, poster competition and music competition our students secured number of prizes in district level. Our student, have also excelled in co-curricular activities like debate, quiz, creative writing, extempore etc. other than cultural and sports event they have performed remarkably well in the field of rock climbing competition both in states & national level. Sir/Madam, you will be happy to know that Sh. Soumen Ghosh of 1972 batch is a member of the team of scientists in Mangalaya Project which make a history. Sh. Gaurab Sharma of 2002 batch has joined IIT, Kanpur as Associate Professor in 2015.

Like previous year this year also we are organizing 13th S.P. Kundu Inter School Football Tournament. This time 12 renowned schools of Delhi have participated. On 24th of this month Final will be played between Tagore International, East of Kailash & Deb Samaj school, Srinivaspuri. I am gladly inviting all of you to witness & enjoy this final match. You will feel proud that two students of our school Sh. Dipankar Kishore and Safique Ahmed Bhandari are playing I-League under 17.

Furthermore, we believe that Vinay Nagar Bengali Sr. Sec. School has yet to go a long way in terms of fully utilizing its best, untapped potentials, once we are able to do that by taking measures such as attracting and retaining top talents in the teaching staff and increasing the amount of resources and support available to our ever-growing student base, we believe our students will be well on the way to becoming the truly great school we all know it can be.

Last but not the least, I take the opportunity to thank all those have been part of this school and its achievements. My thanks go to our Dy. Chief Minister & Education Minister, Govt. of Delhi for his kind presence, the members of the Governing Body, all the PTA members, parents, teachers, staff, Ex-students and all well wishers for their whole hearted support & cooperation.

Before I conclude, I want to give thanks to our Governing Body for their initiative of providing better facilities to our students. I take the opportunity to thank all those who have been the part of the School and its achievement. My thanks goes for the Member of the Governing Body. All the PTA members, Parents, Teachers, Staff Ex-Students and well wishers for their whole hearted support and Co-operation.
